Vladimir Torres

Biography

Vladimir Torres was born in Caracas, Venezuela. He holds a degree in Urban Planning from the prestigious Simon Bolivar University in Caracas, and an M.A. in International Affairs from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, NPSIA, at Carleton University. Since November 1997, Vladimir has lived in Canada and is currently based in Ottawa. With more than twenty years of experience in broadcast and written media, Vladimir works as a Latin America current affairs analyst. He publishes in different press and new media outlets and is a regular contributor to the weekly newspaper Embassy. He is an external consultant to the Canadian Foundation for the Americas, FOCAL. His analysis have granted him repeated invitations to participate in experts’ panels, as well as being interviewed by different broadcast media. Vladimir is a frequent guest lecturer on Latin America at different organizations. A Canadian Citizen since 2001, he is married and has a son and a daughter.
