A word or two when I have something to say.

Harnessing the Power of the Web

If you've read my blog, you know how excited I am about the power of communication.

If you've read my blog, you know how excited I am about the power of communication - through the Web, written word, social networking and online communities. As a writer, editor and web animator, I've just hit the social change jackpot.

For some, the Web is like public speaking - an unsurmountable obstacle of fear, interaction, stage fright and communication. For me, it's a writer's haven.

I'm simply blown away by the speed with which the Web has advanced our thinking. In no way, shape or form do I understand the all of the changes that have occurred with this technology, but I'm entrenched in the opportunities and quirks it has handed to communication, and I'm intrigued!

I'm a writer and editor by training. With advances in online technologies, I'm also a blogger, a twitter, a digital animator, an online community host and more. Just Google me and you'll find that I can be found all over the Internet (you probably can too!). More importantly, I'm a learner!

Next month, I will be attending the Social Tech Training (STT) at the MaRS Centre in Toronto, ON, hosted by Web of Change and Communicopia. STT is a unique hands-on Web 2.0 oriented learning intensive for people working in the social change sector. This training is a phenomenal opportunity to connect the big picture, and develop practical skills to execute a comprehensive Web 2.0 plan for online development.

I'm looking forward to it and will, of course, write soon with exciting updates. Are you attending Social Tech Training or know someone who will be there? Let me know!
