Connect for Global ChangeTM
IGLOO is a growing network of individuals and organizations from around the world that are using information and communication technologies to help find new and innovative solutions to the economic, social, institutional and political governance challenges facing the world today.
Today’s global environment is radically different from the one that existed only a few years ago. A tremendous amount of information is now available online and has brought new opportunities - and challenges - for those working in international governance. Researchers and practitioners have a common challenge: to find the most effective way to gather high quality research, exchange ideas, and propose solutions.
The primary purpose of establishing the IGLOO Network is to provide free and unencumbered access to leading-edge research, knowledge and expertise regardless of discipline, geographic location or time zone.
Each member of the IGLOO Network has free access to a variety of informational tools and resources - right at their fingertips.
- A member directory consisting of academics, practitioners, policy makers and the general public.
- A rich library of international governance materials including speeches, briefings, reports, periodicals and more.
- A Google-esque search of thousands of pre-screened governance only websites.
- Headline news from major international newspapers and news sources.
- Expert blogs for sharing thoughts, ideas and opinions on various topics of global importance.
- An event calendar showcasing governance related conferences, lectures, speeches and events from around the world.
Online Communities
IGLOO Network members can also create their own online community right from their web browser in just a matter of minutes. Online communities are public or private web sites used for sharing and exchanging documents, collaborating on ideas, and coordinating projects regardless of geographic boundaries or time zones.
Here are just a few examples of some international organizations that are using online communities to facilitate their work online:

"The IGLOO Network is all about facilitating and enabling global research through online collaboration and knowledge sharing over the web. By bringing together great minds from around the world , we can dramatically improve existing research practices, methodologies, capabilities and solutions to the problems facing our world today. No longer will geography impede collaboration and the communication of great ideas."
