Research Assistant on Energy Markets and Policy

Description:The research assistant would work as part of the work package on governance, public attitudes and geopolitics. A central feature of this theme is a focus on the interaction between energy market dynamics and public policy processes at national, regional (mainly EU) and global level. Ongoing research projects under this package include:
  • Public attitudes towards energy technologies and energy policies, including willingness to pay for energy security and climate change mitigation;
  • The political economy of nuclear energy renaissance in Europe;
  • Comparative energy security policies in Europe, the United States and China;
  • The political economy of support for low-carbon energy technologies;
  • The impact of R&D and the role of technology transfer to major emerging economies (China and India);
  • Natural gas policy in Europe and the EU-Russia relationship.
