Summary:And the winner is... *drumroll*... they still don't know
So, I was wrong. No presidential results Monday, and now nothing on Tuesday. So much for a sweeping post about how the result of the election - arguably Africa's most important since South Africa in 1994 - will influence the entire continent for years' to come.
Guess that will have to wait until... tomorrow? Let's hope.
But unlike the Zimbabwean Electoral Commission, the country's bloggers have been more than forthcoming in their opinions on the election. With a shackled domestic media and hand-picked selection of accredited foreign journalists, they might be the best people to tell the world what Zimbabweans make of this extraordinary situation.
Even the BBC, generally the best mainstream media outlet covering anything Africa, ran a story on bloggers' reaction to the unexpected delays. My own source in Harare pointed me to the ill-named but insightful Comrade Fatso.
Other notables include: the polemic but powerful This is Zimbabwe, the collectively-written Kubatana and the oft-updated Zimbabwe Today (my favourite). Because we all need something to do while we wait.
