Blog Action Day - Blog about poverty with thousands around the world

Just saw this posting at Osocio, one of my favourite blogs ever, and wanted to share it:

BLOG ACTION DAY

Blog Action Day is an annual nonprofit event that aims to unite the world’s bloggers, podcasters and videocasters, to post about the same issue on the same day. The aim is to raise awareness and trigger a global discussion. This year's Blog Action Day will be held October 15 and it's all about poverty.

Bloggers can participate by publishing at least one blog post, podcast or video about poverty [...]

Mapping your mind - and tools that will help you do it

At Collaborative Leadership in May, participants created mind maps of the capacities, competencies and behaviours of collaborative leaders on four massive sheets of paper.  This was the first time the work had been articulated this way in Canada.

We wanted to capture the maps electronically, and so we searched for some free mind mapping software and used it.  Now, others don't have to do as much trial and error as we did - the fine folks at the Wild Apricot Blog (a technology blog [...]

Two young women, one from Victoria BC and one [...]

Social Media - what's the fuss all about?

I get seriously giddy each time the folks at Common Craft release a new video.  It's because I know that whatever they release will help me get beyond the hype of Web 2.0.  Using plain English and great graphics, they de-mystify technology and technical terms.  Essentially, they make Web 2.0 accessible.

Check out their latest video: Social Media in Plain English if you're unsure what all the fuss is about.
