December 1st is recognised internationally as World AIDS Day.
It is the culmination of AIDS Awareness Week, which begins annually
on November 24th.
World AIDS Day started in 1988 after an international summit
of health ministers called for increased social tolerance and
greater exchange for information on HIV/AIDS with a goal of
strengthening global efforts to address the challenges of the AIDS
pandemic.
The
