World AIDS Day - December 1, 2007

December 1st is recognised internationally as World AIDS Day. It is the culmination of AIDS Awareness Week, which begins annually on  November 24th.
World AIDS Day started in 1988 after an international summit of health ministers called for increased social tolerance and greater exchange for information on HIV/AIDS with a goal of strengthening global efforts to address the challenges of the AIDS pandemic.
The IGLOO Library contains a wealth of information on the AIDS pandemic from various perspectives including health governance, social impacts and economic implications.
