The
Governance Village Library
will be introduced on Friday October 26th during CIGI's annual
conference.
Governance Village is the first
online knowledge network that brings Canadian researchers,
policymakers, and practitioners together in an effort to establish
and share proven good governance practices in international
development.
The library is the knowledge base of the network and centres
around five themes: Democratic Development, Human Rights and
Development, Peace and Security, Capacity Building, and Rule of
Law. It contains thousands of free, open-access documents from
contributing partner organizations which focus on international
development and governance issues. By having documents freely
accessible around the world, Governance Village hopes to bring
together people from different backgrounds and different continents
in one central place for knowledge sharing. The challenges we face
when discussing development concerns are vast and transcend
borders. Therefore, they require practical, long-term solutions.
The goal of Governance Village is to provide a central place where
people can obtain the information needed to be able to collaborate
and bring forth global change.
