Remembrance Day
November 11 th is Remembrance Day in Canada. The day is marked to pay respect to the men and women who have served the country during times of war, conflict and peace and to remember those who served during the First World War (1914-1918), the Second World War (1939-1945), the Korean War (1950-1953) and all of the wars to the present day in which Canadian forces have participated. On Remembrance Day we reflect not only on the sacrifices that soldiers have made in past conflicts but also on the current work of men and women throughout the world to bring peace and security to vulnerable peoples.
