The Canadian Institute of International Affairs is
approaching their one year anniversary of launching on IGLOO. At
this time, the organization took the time to re-evaluate the layout
and design of their homepage. Although the CIIA had experimented
with colours and graphics over the past year, the layout of the
page required visitors to scroll down repeatedly to get all the
information being presented and was more difficult to edit. The
regular features of the homepage include upcoming events,
publications, featured members and major conferences. To fit all
this into a page that is easy to navigate was a challenge presented
to the facilitators and graphic designers at IGLOO.
The solution was to adopt a homepage design divided into
discrete boxes that could be easily edited independently. This
brings more information to the top of the page and makes it easier
for the facilitator to edit one area at a time. The new face of the
CIIA community will be public at
the end of July.
