Building a Learning Community

Spotlight on Danielle Aubry, Institute 2007

In this week's Village Vibes (Charity Village), the spotlight is on Danielle Aubry and strategic alliances among non-profits. Danielle joined us at the 2007 Communities Collaborating Institute.

Danielle Aubry founded Calgary Communities Against Sexual Abuse in 1994 and has served as it executive director since that time. She joined our learning community in 2007 as part of the Communities Collaborating Institute, and has shared her valuable knowledge and insight with us on the blogs and as part of learning circles.

So, it was no wonder that Charity Village recently featured Danielle in a recent issue of Village Vibes to talk about non-profit partnerships. Her vision for the non-profit sector is an important one. She wants to see more organizations partnering to share resources and information they might not otherwise have access to. This vision for collaboration is one that strengthens everyone's capacity to acheive their mission.

Danielle was selected as a Muttart Fellow in 2006, which allowed her to examine patnerships and strategic alliances as potential solutions to the competitive markets in which charities operate. Charity Village spoke with Danielle about her reserach, present-day challenges and the types of partnerships that help to alleviate non-profit competition.
