About Us

Toronto is the largest branch of the CIC with approximately 300 members. As the provincial capital, a leading business and financial hub for Canada, and home to three universities, the Toronto branch is able to provide its members with extensive programming that includes both national and international experts speaking on topics that are current and often controversial. Selected recent speakers include, His Excellency Daniel Jouanneau, French Ambassador to Canada; Mr. Peter Sinclair, Director, Corporate Social Responsibility, Barrick Gold; Lieutenant Governor James Bartleman; David Goodhart, editor of Prospect Magazine; Ted Whiteside, Head of the Weapons of Mass Destruction Centre (WMDC) in NATO HQ; Col. Mike Capstick; Elizabeth May, National Leader of the Green Party; Thomas Homer-Dixon, Director, Trudeau Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies, UofT; Peter Foster, Columnist, National Post; Dr. Zlobin, former political advisor to the Kremlin; and Jeremy Kinsman, Canadian Ambassador to the EU. Further, the branch is currently developing a student-oriented programme which will include both membership wide events, as well as student-specific research and publication opportunities. Please check out the branch website - www.cictoronto.ca - for further information.
